Funny Friday #28

Has this ever happen to you? You're in the restroom for 2.3 minutes and someone is shoving toys under the door. Not to mention everyone is yelling desperately for you---panicking where you are.

#youmightbeamomif

I'm sure a mom invented bathroom door locks.

Sure of it.

Funny Friday #27

This week we started homeschool soccer. Nation played the last two years for YMCA, but this was Solomon's first year to play. We play from 1-3 in the heat of the day, let's just say this happen pretty soon after we settled into our carseats.

Another funny thing that happen recently [even thought not this week], was:
[Scene: Homeschooling]
Me: Nation good job! You're so smart.
Nation: Yeah, I guess this whole God-School really is working out well for me

He meant to say...Homeschool ; )

Funny Friday #22

Do you ever come up with crazy games for your kids just to keep them interested in the same-old-backyard, or the same-old-toys? Well this week I invented boot bowling. I lined up all their boots in the backyard [that's a whole other post] and gave them some heavy bocce balls to throw at them. Let's just say they didn't want to come inside when outside time was over. "Boot Bowling" For-The-Win.

[Insert picture of poopie cloth diaper here]

Disclaimer: If you [A] don't have kids or [B] don't use cloth diapers or [C] are grossed out by bugs you may not want to continue reading.

So, my neighbor must be thinking, what is that girl doing outside in the dark at 11:30 PM on a Friday night? Is she washing something in the backyard? Is it a cloth diaper? Weirdo. Yep, that was me. Tonight after small group left I could almost go to bed, but wait two things still remained...that one load of laundry I promised myself I'd get to today and of course a blog post.

Imagine me outside spraying off a dirty cloth diaper I might have left in the garage all week because he pooped in it just as I was leaving to go somewhere and my sprayer is still at my rental house...oh and I was avoiding it. I kept putting it off until now I'm too cheap to be on the verge of loosing it. WELL---y'all, it had maggots in it, yep, you heard me right, and it was majorly caked on. The things we do for our kids!

[Insert picture of small fan on kitchen counter blowing into Ziplock of lettuce]

I'm still not sure how to dry lettuce even after rinsing, and spinning in my salad spinner, and patting dry with a paper towel. It still sometimes seems---wet. So, this week I tried letting my fan [that I tote around the house all day to blow on me because apparently I'm permanently "temperature pregnant"] do some of the drying for me. As I stared there at my lettuce being blowing around in a bag like a women's hair for a photo shoot, I thought---should I even photograph this?

Candra, you have out done yourself domestically this time.

Funny Friday #20

So, it wasn't "funny", but it's kinda funny that maybe I won't be asked to babysit again :(

I was watching my three, and their friends [each 9 months older than my three] playing in the backyard on Monday and he slipped on the stairs right before my very eyes. Poor guy.

Funny Friday #17

Nation: "Wow, what smells so good in here?"
Me: "It's me, I just took a shower"

* he pauses to think*

Nation: "What do girls smell so good when they get wet?"
Me: "Girls getting wet by water doesn't make us smell good silly...it's our soap and lotions"
Nation: "Well, it sure does smell good"

Nation is 4.

Moses first word was "da da", followed by "ma ma", followed by "no", Normal right? Well what about his 4th and 5th words that we didn't teach him? Well, I guess his brothers taught him---

By Friday...we all need a good laugh! Link up with me below every Friday!

Funny Friday #15

This picture was not staged. I seriously have this weird problem...called open a bottle of water, drink from it, lose it and then not trust the kids haven't drank from it. So I open a new one and then stack them up around my sink and let the kids have them until they are gone.

Laugh away.

Moses here---eating his brothers mud pie mixture. Funny, and gross.

If there is something Nation is always working on---it's projects.
Here we have some left over new dryer vent piping.
Nation took it and "dressed" himself with it.
He played like this for an hour.
All I could think of was...lady gaga

Did your kids say anything funny to you this week? Mine did.

Me: Get in the car
Nation: Why
Me: We're going to get some lunch to eat
Nation: Why don't you just cook something here mom?
Me: Um, well, Chick-fil-a just cooks better than mommy

Funny Friday #14 [Best Mac & Cheese]

Amy's organic is THE BEST store bought mac & cheese out there. I learned about it from a woman I use to babysit for years ago. Now my kids happily devour it. Usually I eat half and the older boys split the rest, but now Moses eats the whole thing all-by-himself. He started saying "cheese" this week and baby signing "more" for it.

As you can see it's quite messy.

5 essentials for baby to enjoy "the" cheese

1. The mac & cheese [health food freezer section]
2. a bib that will catch it all
3. a table mat that will keep your table from being permanently greasy
5. their 10 fingers [no utensils required]

Funny Friday #11

In the interest of time...here is a photo collage summary [unedited] of Solomon's 3rd birthday party last night at Chuck E Cheese. We invited our four closest families and enjoyed games, pizza and cake.

I'll begin with the end. The "Funny" part.

We were driving home at 8:30 [ish] pm which is already past bedtime and when loaded up on Hi-C [0% juice 100% sugar], cake, and game candy we shrugged off all the crying [from all three] on the way home as overtired and overloaded on sugar. When we pulled in the driveway and opened the doors you can imagine our shock when we realized Solomon had been crying because apparently his forehead and the balloon weight got into a fight on the way home.

Did I mention Charles took a business call on the way home too? That was humorous. Pretty sure that was great birth control for that newly married contractor.

Solomon ended up being just fine though, not to worry.

Now---the happier beginning...

Nation said after hugging Chuckie,
"He's kinda...kinda...comfortable" [he meant soft]

I was thankful for the ability to throw him a party without having to do anything, but show up. Especially since we are in the process of moving. At first it was a bit pricey at $12-17 per child, but they ended up giving me a really great deal. I ordered a sandwich & wings tray for the adults so we didn't have to eat the "pizza". They provide the cake, balloons, gift bags, souvenir cups, and lots of tokens for everyone.

Funny Friday #10

Better late than never. Funny Friday---

We've been packing this week, anticipating a move early next week. We are so thankful for our free boxes even though our house currently looks like a liquor storeroom with all our Crown Royal boxes [photo 1].

Moses thinks he's so funny climbing on top of the toilet [photo 2], the only other time he thinks he's more funny is when he's playing in it.

Caught Charles asleep putting Nation to bed [photo 3]. I'm pretty sure that Ikea toddler bed isn't meant to hold both of their weight, but they seem pretty comfy.

Look closely, you might have to click on the picture to view it more close up. Nation, in the backyard, with his underwear-crocs-shirt-and hat flipped up like we're back in the early 90's [photo 4]. If that doesn't scream "homeschooler" I don't know what doesn't.

[[[[[[[[insert imaginary photo here]]]]]]]]

Yesterday, I thought I'd take a very mini break from packing and run down to the corner where our neighbor was having a mega garage sale. Knowing she has several little boys my boys ages, I was hopeful to grab a few boy things for cheap [no luck!]. But when trying to park on the side of the road like all the other shoppers, my wheels started spinning. I thought no big deal, I got out to look and I can't even explain to you what happen or how it happen, but the entire back of my car was resting on the pavement. My tires were shoved up into my car and I was sure I'd permanently ruined the car. I called AAA, but they said it would be three hours.

My knight in shinning armor came to my rescue and with one push, I was back on the road. I was so humiliated and embarrassed and terrified about what I'd done to even take a picture. I totally thought "I'm blogging about this", but didn't want to be scene next to my own vehicle in fear of what peopel might think of me.

"How did she do that?"

To be honest, I still don't know.

Anything funny happen to you this week?

Funny Friday #9

Who knows how long that has been on there...

So, technically it's two minutes till midnight, BUT it is still Friday in Texas and California, thus I'm going to continue to write this post. I would have blogged earlier, but I was busy being responsible. Okay, maybe a little of that and a little practicing for hours on the embroidery machine.

Either way, we were walking through the mall this week and Nation [insert attitude with the following] says,

"Ohhhh...NO WAY are we taking the kids in there"

----> points to Abercrombie & Fitch I have no idea where that came from, honestly, I don't. I've never said that to my knowledge, but he's wise for a 4 year old, what can I say?

What kind of person stops at CVS on the way to a wine tasting?
Buys a test.
And takes a test in their bathroom?

Me.
You know me.
Let's just say, The results...
I spent the evening swirling, sniffing, & savoring French wines.
[it's really all very fascinating, I should have put:
Become Wine Snob on my 2011 resolutions]

and finally---

For the "real" followers [and or...for the grandparents atleast...]

[Semi-Serious] Funny Friday #8

I wish I had something funny to report, but this week was pretty rough with my oldest child. The whole week is sorta a blur after these last two days.

bottle of water poured into iPhone
several pieces of dishes broken
attempt climbing out a window [again]
getting out of carseat [again]
broken window screens
dissembled [older] iPod
pages of books torn out
coloring everywhere
attitudes, arguing, and lying oh my
I could go on...

He's a sweetheart, but he's will needs to be broken [again] for all things Jesus and not all things flesh. He's not like this all time [thankfully], but has moments/seasons of training and re-trainging.  I've thrown in the towel a few times this week, but my husband has picked it back up. I love that kid more than anything, but he gets to me...and I'm pretty sure he knows. That's where I'm at, and I know where I'm working towards. Prayers and kind advice welcomed.

[In case you're wondering we do discipline him, but alternative/creative suggestions welcome]

I know that's life parenting, but nevertheless, a good laugh for us all...

Funny Friday #7 [St. Patricks Recap]

That's Moses on St. Patricks day with a root beer float people! I didn't bake, or do any fun crafts, but I did buy them matching out fits--manage to get them to smile---thank you daddy for pretending to fart---and buy some green goodies for them.

The mint Oreos tasted just like the girl scout cookies so save your money! [And they are two points each for you WW people]. The green cupcakes were good I'm assuming [I did resist], but I will tell you my kids woke up today and asked for more cookies and cupcakes because "it's Valentine's day", ha! They get their holidays mixed up, but never their refreshments.

Hope your St. Patricks day was green---I didn't wear any---oops, but then again, no one pinched me either. By the way, people often make fun of me for the way I say pinched. I might do a vlog in the future and say the word for you.

What did you do for St. Patricks day?

Anything funny happen to you this week?

Cleaning the shredded parmesan cheese out of the brown sugar container was entertaining a little. Probably most humorous was watching me take all three kids into Old Navy---on the way to church in less than 10 minutes so I could dress them in something Summer & clean before heading to the conference tonight. They were hot messes from grandma's house & all the rest of our clean summer clothes are in storage. I managed to get us dressed, feed and across Atlanta in an hour. I'm sure Jesus was laughing at my Friday night insanity if no one else.

They matched.
They were clean.
They will be wearing those outfits at least 100 times until we move.

[Not So] Funny Friday #6

In lieu of today's news...I will not be posting my planned post out of respect for those mourning today. Please continue praying for Japan, and all those effected.
