Black & White Wordless [#6]

Sometimes Gummy Supplements Get Stuck To Our Backs

In theory, this post should be wordless, but I can't help myself. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to talk to you about our daily supplements we take.

We: all take Juice Plus+ Chewable Gummies [Fruit & Veggies]. These gummies have 17 different fruits, vegetables, and grains in convenient soft chewable form. Juice Plus+ is made from fresh, high quality fruits and vegetables, and is carefully tested to ensure that no pesticides or other contaminants affect the natural purity of the product. Its appealing taste comes from two all-natural sweeteners - tapioca syrup and organic cane syrup - with absolutely no high fructose corn syrup. Juice Plus+ Chewables contain no artificial flavors or artificial colors and are 100% vegetarian; the 'chewiness' comes from fruit pectins, not gelatin.

You can read more about Juice Plus+ & purchase here from my consultant.

Did you know Bear Grylls & his three boys also take it?

My kids take 2 a day of each and we take 4 a day of each. Ironically, Charles use to sell them. I started taking them right before I met him [2004] after my mentor suggested them for my constant sinus & stomach problems.

Four times a year I'd get sick and every time it was the same thing, a sinus infection. Also, several times a week I would have a lot of trouble digesting food and my stomach would hurt. It didn't happen over night, but after a few weeks of consistently taking them I can honestly attest that my stomach issues were gone. Not only that, but I can't remember the last time I had a full blown sinus infection. There are lots of others reason to take Juice Plus, but those are two reasons I still do.

I'm not sure they are as good, but if you don't want to pay for JP, Yummi Bears has a alternative thats similar Yummi Bears Whole Food Fruit & Veggies.

Me: I always stay on Rainbow Light Just Once Prenatal One Multivitamin because I'm usually either pregnant or nursing [or just want great hair]. I have been taking them since 2004 and I love them because they are a whole food, which means my body recognizes and uses the ingredients. They are organic and extremely gentle on the stomach. I sometimes use the Rainbow Light Complete Prenatal System Food Based if I'm feeling extra healthy [and up for taking 6 a day instead of 1]. I usually buy them from Amazon online because they are the best price.

The Kids: Yummi Bears Multi-Vitamin & Mineral Gummies & Yummi Bears Omega 3-6-9 Gummies. In the winter: they take Yummi Bears Vitamin C and a probiotic as well. We use Yum-Yum Dophilus chewables, but we buy them from our local health food stores refridgerator. A decent alternative online is: L'il Critters ProBiotic.

I'll talk more about pregnancy supplements later.
What supplements do you take?

  2. Who do you purchase the Juice Plus from?
As I mentioned previously, I have been looking for a fruit & veggie supplement. The ones I found are covered in sugar :(

  3. Currently on Garden of Life Perfect Food Caplets, as well as Omega 3,6,9. But I'm starting Juice Plus this month, ironically! Jaana too. I'm excited to get started on it. But I do love my Jordan Rubin/Garden of Life stuff.

  8. Sometimes Gummies get stuck in our hair, eew! My kids take L'il Critters. For me it's the easiest to find, Allergy Free, high(-er than most) quality vitamin. They take 2 ea of the Multi-vitamin, Immune C, Calcium +D and Omega-3 every day.

  10. I use to take juice plus and now you making me want to start again!

I take Professional Prenatal by Lifetime recommended by Shonda Parker (The Naturally Healthy Pregnancy) and it's 6 capsule a day and Alfalfa tablets. I have rotated that with Rainbow Light's Prenatal in the past. I too am always pregnant or nursing so I take it all the time. Now if you asked me my regimen while I am pregnant it would take too long to type in a comment, so I will just stick to what we currently do.

We juice veggies, drink chlorophyll (in cycles), and I take a fish oil pill (Neutracuticals-spelling?)

Pierce takes Rainbow Lights multiple for kids (chewable) and Dr. Sear's fish oil chewy orange balls-he loves them. Dr. Sear's will send good coupons to your email too. He also takes an extra kid's zinc.

A few times a week we take extra calcium citrate/magnesium citrate (powder) in a glass of milk before bed.

I try to take Floradix (or this other brand i get in our coop) herbal iron supplement. Sometimes I run out so it's not 100%. But when I am pregnant I make sure to have it on hand to take everyday. I will give this to Pierce to most days but not everyday.

I go through cycles of doing cod liver oil, spirulina, kelp, extra vitamin C, garlic, echinacea, elderberry.

FOR SICKNESS, even the first little signs: First we pray, stop all sugar (even hidden ones), extra vit. C, extra zinc, garlic (the best!). Ways to get raw garlic down (you can also take capsules but raw is the best)-crush in garlic press and mix into hot tea-hold your nose and drink or you can put a little peanut butter on a spoon, crush raw garlic on it and cover with peanut butter and swallow whole (if you have a sensitive gag reflex don't do this).

We are hardly ever sick-a whole year will go by and then I'll realize we have not been sick aside from a few runny noses (usually allergies). The last virus we had was 2 years ago and we are around a lot of kids and many times people are getting over sickness or didn't realize they were contagious and came down with something the next day.

And of course (I know we'd all agree) that nutrients from food is the best so the best thing to do if focus on eating whole foods with some raw foods.

The baby vitamin (liquid) I gave Pierce around 8 months until he could handle a chewable they don't sell anymore (Nature's Sunshine baby vitamin). Love is almost 8 months. I want a natural vitamin with iron-any recommendations?

  12. Question: What vitamins do you give newborns if any?

  13. JennWatt, read up what courtney said above, I believe I mixed in some baby Rainbow light powder vitamins [if they still make those] with my first son, but after some research realized that really breastfed babies their first year are just fine without anything. I don't add iron either. It's debatable, but I feel like as long as I'm well stocked with vitamins and maybe a little extra the baby is getting it.

Excited about your pregnancy! Checked out your blog today too. Love Captivating as well.
