Nationosaurus Turned 5

My Nationosaurus turned 5 this week, and we celebrated his birthday for the 5th year in a row---a day early---on the 4th of July. We always have a big party at my moms pool and invite all our friends to swim all afternoon & evening.

I guess I was too busy swimming to remember to take pictures, I snagged some, but you'll just have to imagine the 6 families & 17 kids that were there. Oh and the adorable little dino goodie bags I made, the sign I hung, and the green decor that got rained out. Thankfully, Sarah caught a few I didn't.

The cake is by my cake lady.

My mom "made" Nation the coolest gift---she collected all types of odds & ends [that he's always so fascinated by in her garage]. He's been constructing everyday since he got it! He's such a builder.

Naturally, now that he's 5, we're in the Lego Phase, ha! First sets here.

Another friend of ours made Nation these awesome "Heart Seeds'" jars for a new "system" we're trying with Nation...more on that later.

And that's how I know I threw him a great party---this was around 7pm I think.

Solomon & Nation played so long and hard that day too. They both crashed before 5pm dinner and didn't wake up until it was nearly 9 and we were headed home. They missed cake, but promptly reminded me upon waking.

  1. that tool box your mom put together is the best. kids love the simple things; my oldest is 6 and is the same way. happy birthday!

  2. A mama's love is what makes a birthday party special – a mama's love is what makes every gift perfect. Your mama's love comes bursting through your words. Happy birthday to your boy. Happy birthday to you too – because his birthday – well – it's kind of yours as well. No? God bless you and keep you – and each and every one of yours.

  3. So glad Nation had a wonderful birthday! :) They grow up too fast, don't they? My oldest was 5 in February, an I have no idea where the time has gone!
