After what happen to us over Christmas vacation [I think I forgot to blog about our 1 day return trip turned 3], I was really hopeful the traveling drama was over [Insert loud laugh here]. To my surprise our car made it just fine, unfortunately our luggage...didn't.
We were traveling down 75 from Atlanta to Ft. Myers when someone flagged us down that our luggage wasn't on our car anymore. We pulled off the next exit and drove back 15 minutes [where we had lasted stopped at Sonic]. We did this drive 3 times and never saw our large luggage carrier on the roadside [which had two huge bags one mine/one Charles]. The only option we can think of since our carrier was on at Sonic is that as soon as it feel off someone stopped and threw it in the back of their car/truck to steal. The time it took for us to turn around---it was already gone. We called the authorities and are always open to a "return-to-owner-miracle".
Very much stinks because my bag had hundreds of dollars worth of clothes in it. Pretty much all of my favorite dresses, my expensive undergarments, shoes, 5 swim suit and all my summer tops & bottoms. Favorite jeans, favorite capris...the list goes on. Charles had all his nice clothes, new pants, shoes, and $400+ in tennis gear. We spent the better portion of today replacing these things.
I just keep telling myself--- It's just clothes.
The really funny part was that when we did try to go replace these today---the hour drive there and back [from the Island we are staying at] and the two hours shopping with the kids...just as we are about to check out...the fire alarm goes off and they made us evacuate and go across the street until the fire department cleared the store. Turned out to be faulty, hasn't happen since 2009.
It WOULD happen, ha ha, I don't care, we bought those clothes!
